Default Help wanted! Lookig for a painting

Hello everybody up here!

I am almost desperate, could anyone please help me?

As present for our wedding this september we wanted to have a helping hand in the start of our art collection. To do so we off course wanted to show people what the first painting was we wanted to buy.
So we started a search. Recently I have found a painting from (which I thought) an American modern artist. Unfortunately because of daily hectic job I forgot the name of artist and painting....

Maybe you guys can help me out please?!
It concerned a painting which also was published as a sketch which represented a small alley in which you got to take a look as a viewer. At the end of the alley there was a small person (boy) who stood there and waved to a flock of birds or let them loose. It was a brownish painting of around 80x60cm and it was on sale at a British online gallery for 1450,- but the artist also had paintings of around 3.000,- on sale.
As we are starting with collecting art this would have been our first buying...
Could you please help us? Do you know of which artist this could have been?

Thanking you in advance,

Kind regards,
Marshall
