painting by Speck- Germany 1945

My parents were married in 1946 in Germany and received a gift of a large painting of the cross on the Zugspitz. I'm not sure of the date (1945-1946?), but it is signed by the artist, Speck, lower right hand corner. Both my parents have passed on, but my mother had said Speck was a famous artist back then. Has anyone heard of him? Thank you.

Is the signature just "Speck" or is there a preceding initial?
Here is what I found: The first three are Georg Andreas Speck and the last one is August Speck. Good luck.
