All the pictures are attached. If anyone has any idea of the artist, or even the subject matter, I'd really appreciate the help. If this piece turns out to be valuable, I'd even be happy to give a small reward to anyone who can definitively identify either signature.

Thanks!
The back looks like ***** a day
The figures on the front kind of look like jockeys to me but not sure.

I think it is an Asian painting or Asian inspired. My feeling is that it is Indonesian and not made in 1934 later much later but I could be totally wrong. It is surly is an very attractive painting.

It "feels" later than 1934 to me as well (more like the '70s maybe), but I don't have any knowledge of this kind of art so I can't back that up with anything.

Actually the "93" looks more prominent than the rest of the date. Maybe it was made in 1993 and the other brushstrokes are part of the background design, or perhaps added later to make it seem older.

I thought the painting is a modern version of the more traditional painting they still make in Indonesia. See attachments.

Thank you, mp.kunst, John and thatcomedian for your insights. Sorry for my slow reply, as I didn't know they had posted my question (I kept looking at the wrong page). Very interesting comments. And the images from the Indonesian pictures look remarkably similar to the figures in mine. Thanks!

I would say a group of sitar players and a tabla player of Asian origin. Sig looks like Sammy Aday. Modern.
