Default Oil Painting - David Mead

We have an oil painting of an autumn woodland scene which we were told would be of Victorian age. It is signed in the bottom left corner in capital letters DAVID MEAD. However in the bottom right corner there seems to be another name, something like Andre Lesance? Does anyone have any idea who Andre ??? might be and why would that name appear on one of Dvid Mead's paintings?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Perhaps it is a copy of a David Mead painting by an Andre Lesance / Le Sance / Le Sanc?
