I am trying to find the Hemy oil painting "And every soul was saved" based on the rescue of the passengers and crew of the Danemark by the crew of the SS. Missouri captained by Capt. H. Murrell. It was painted circa. 1890. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.............Tom Broome

After an extensive search I am unable to locate the original. Here is a list of recent auctions - http://www.artinfo.com/artists/upcom...as-marie-hemy/
An article regarding his brother Charles Napier Hemy - http://www.berwickshire-news.co.uk/n...cth.4105532.jp Perhaps you could contact Brian Stewart the curator at the Falmouth Art Gallery and he may have some insight into where the painting may be or at least steer you in the right direction. http://www.falmouthartgallery.com/index.html Good Luck! |
