Why is email disabled along with private message?

I found cases where people were trying to use the system to send spam. Between the possibility of organized groups sending manual spam, sending automated spam, or finding a security hole that allows them to send unlimited emails, I felt it was better to turn the function off. If you knew the number of spam messages posted by jerks we get every day, you'd understand.

Ok I have no problem with that. I thought it was just me.
