I'm trying to identify this monogram with the letters RAS. It appears consistently on prints on canvas signed by A.Borsari and somebody else, normally the original autor of the scene that is reproduced.
The monogram appears sometimes close to the signature but also in the back or the edges of the canvas. There is not much information about A.Borsari online, basically dozens of people from all over the world have been trying to figure out who he/she is. On the meantime, some others try to sell the reproductions, chromolitographs I think, as original oil paintings. If somebody knows what the monogram stands from it would be of great help, also I found a variation with only the letters AS in a Borsari print on canvas, in my opinion it is related to the RAS monogram. Any help will be greatly appreciated, let's solve the Borsari enigma! Thank you. |

I have a canvas (about 70 x 100 cm), framed with wood frame with gold floral reliefs, signed with initials lower left RAS. I found a painting as Ecce homo A. Borsari. Please details about this because it is not possible reproduction oil painting, but appears to be an icon. Who made the reproduction is very old and the estimated value would be. It's a beautiful picture. (lucretia_b63@yahoo.com)
