? Renart
Can someone tell me about this artist? Here is an attachment of the signed nude sketch I have done by Renart. Who is/was he? What is this image worth?

I have the same picture/print. It is at least 60 years old. It is probably a lithograph or something similar and I would assume of little value other than sentimental.

I also have a print by Renart, it is a woman at a desk and resembles the style of Louis Icart. I had it checked by a dealer who said it's an orignal lithograph and could be worth $300, it had been my mother's, and must have been done in the 40's. I have a pencil signed Renart matted oval framed circa 1940 color litho. Subject is a clothed, reclining woman surrounded by hydrangeas and a pair of borzoi dogs (Russian Wolfhounds) Can't find any info regarding artist and his work. Looks like he/she copied Icart...don't have any idea of scope of artists work or value. Piece has been in family at least 70 years and valued as sentimental heirloom. Any info would be appreciated.

All I can find is J.C. Renart, described as French, 20th Century, circa 1939. Lithographs selling for around $150.

I have the exact same piece 93/500. I'll reserach R.C. Renart on the web. Advise if additional info found. Thxs. |
