I am trying to identify 2 paintings (or maybe dyed fabric) which can be seen here:

The artist's signature is on only one of the paintings. I have a closeup picture of the signature included. It looks like "dlc"

I believe they were given to my aunt by Murial Newman of Chicago, IL who, along with her husband Albert were very much into the art culture.

The framing is extremely high quality - cloth covered matting & heavy metal frames.

I've been searching the web for weeks and cannot find any way to search if I don't already have an artist name. Any help, advice or leads would be very much appreciated. I want to identify them before my mother donates them. Thank you all.
