Here is a painting i really don't know to much about. It has a nice little story behind it.

Seems the person who painted this, was the first time they ever did a painting of this kind. It was of a barn in Minnesota. After fishing the painting. The artist wanted to give it to the owners of the barn. They did not want the painting as the story goes. My great grandmother was friends with the artist, so she was giving this painting as a gift.

I have never been able to find any real info on the artist or anything close to this painting. Would like to know what its worth also.

Findartinfo.com shows a record of a painting by "M. Magnuson" being sold in 2007 for $990.

As far as I know you would need to join in order to see any other details of the sale they might have, e.g. a picture of the painting, or the name of the auction house so that you can investigate further. Fortunately a 1-day membership is only $5.

P.S. I also found a record of a Marguerite Magnuson who was apparently a painter, but her name didn't become Magnuson until 1977 so this may not be the same person.

Thanks for the info. Only thing i could remember about the artist is. She was a sculptor most of her life. Didn't start painting till her late 60's. And as far as my grandmother says. This was the first and maybe last time she ever did a bar painting like this.
