Default Please Help Identify This Painting and Author

I have recently found a medium size painting in my attic and I can not identify the author and name of the painting.. please Help!

it is on wood size : 28X19.5 cm

I didn't notice until just now that in the first picture there is a signature of some kind and the date 1908.

It's a fine painting that captures the ideal of female beauty of the era (similar to the classic "Gibson Girl" look). Do you suppose she's an actress or a singer from that era?

I have the same thought.. I suppose this is an actress or maybe a noble woman who was painted to be immortalized.. But now we can not understand who she was and what was her occupation..

maybe not too many people are interested. itīs an item with mainly decorative merrits. artistically itīs not extremely challenging - you get what you see right away.

I'm sure if someone recognized the artist or the sitter they would say something, but overall there's not a lot to go on except for the year.
