Not sure what kind of database would be useful here. In the absence of either a signature or someone recognizing this specific painting, it's going to be pretty much impossible to identify the artist.
Perhaps a start would be to identify the subject of the painting. My guess is that this is Jesus as a child, with Mary and what looks like St. Peter. But I'm not any kind of expert on religious iconography, so I could be way off. |

Yes, you are correct, I have been told that it Mary teaching Jesus to read in the prescence of St. Peter.
Where can I find information including photographs of paintings from the venetian school (Tintoreto) so as to compare styles. |

Google Images comes to mind as the quickest way to get an overview...

I see nothing particularly venetian in this painting that shows roman and napolitan influences. The subject is St Anna and St Joachim teaching to read to the Virgin, more often called "Education of the virgin". It took some days to remember where I had seen this rare representation of the young Virgin as a fair long curly haired child and to find again an image that was hired in an only page on the web. The prototype is a painting by Paolo de Matteis (1662 Piano del Cilento-1728 Naples) 98 cmX 125cm, sold by Babuino, roman auction house in 2007. This painting is signed and dated 1728. Some failings in the execution of your painting forbid an attribution to this painter and the author is probably one of his pupils like one of the members of the Sarnelli family, may be Giovanni Sarnelli.
