Default Need Help Identifying Painting

This was purchased from someone at a garage sale. The seller thought the artist had been killed in a gang fight, but could not identify by name.

Any help would be appreciated. The quality of the work is amazing and I really want to know who the artist is/was.

Very interesting pose. Looks like it's influenced by Latin American painters like Diego Rivera, but I couldn't venture a guess as to who the artist is.

Isn't that a signature in the bottom right? Can you post a closeup of it(in focus).

Default No Signature

I wish there was. It seems influenced by Diego Rivera, but I do not believe it to be. There is no signature on the work unless it is hidden under the frame. It also appears that someone previously had removed the paper from the back of the frame to see if there was any identification behind it but there is none.

Actually it looks even more like the work of Francisco Zúñiga. I wouldn't venture to say it's by his hand, but he did a lot of studies of women in shawls like this. Perhaps a student of his or at least someone influenced by his work.

For example...

Whoa! In fact check this lithograph out. It looks like yours is a simplified version of this print:
