Default Help to identify painting

Hello,

Can anyone help me to identify this painting, or tell me more about it?

http://singlepointsites.com/temp_art/painting.jpg

It's about 4.5 feet tall. The frame is pretty old and uses little wooden wedges driven into the corners instead of nails or glue.

Thanks,

-Andrew

Since I don't know anything about art, could you tell me what type of art this is? Or about when it may have been painted? Or other artists that do this kind of work?

Thanks.

It's in the Dutch Baroque style of painting -- Rembrandt, Dirk Hals, etc. However it's unlikely the painting actually dates from that era, some 400 years ago. More likely it's a copy, or a later painting done in that old master style.

Try this search for Dutch Portraiture for some similar paintings.
