I have been given a rather beautiful what I believe is a colortype (?) print of a painting called 'when did you last see your father' depicting a small boy being questioned by men sitting at a table in maybe 16th century dress - clearly very wealthy men and the boy though looking very vulnerable looks to be from a wealthy family judging by his dress - the frame now has fallen apart but by style would seem to have been done in the 19th century. I would like to know more about the artist and also whether it being a colortype print makes it more valuable?

The artist is William Frederick Yeames. The original painting is in the Walker Gallery Liverpool. More details here

The correct name for the process is collotype
