There is a statue maker named Antoine Bofill. He was born in Barcelona in the late 19th Century. He flourished in the early 20th century, specializing in small figures and groups. Bofill was a student at the Academy of Beaux Arts in Barcelona and exhibited at the Salon of the Society des Artistes Francais from 1901 to the 1920's.
His signature looks the same as the one on your statue but to be sure your statue is of Antoine Bofill you better contact a specialist. Last edited by mp.kunst : December 3rd, 2010 at 09:08 AM. |

I will investigate, thank you for your input!
The statue seems to be made of bronze, it is much cooler than plaster would be, and the base looks like marble/granite and it is quite heavy also. I am a little bit far from any specialists, but your input is greatly appreciated! |

After some investigation, it does look like an Antoine Bofill, in style and type of sculpture. I was not able to find the same piece, as to figure out the name of it. He has a "Dutch boy smoking" but it's obviously not the same!
If anybody knows the name of the piece, many thanks!! |
