Posts: 1 Default Who painted this portrait? This portrait done by some orientalist had been for a long time the focus of folktales and myths in Iraq during the first half of the 20th century. It was hung on the walls of most houses, and each community claimed that the girl belonged to them and her name was so and so. The portrait was reproduced by local artists, to the extent that nobody now knows for certain, who was the original artist. Sorry I can't help with your question. As you have contact with Iraq can you look at this thread and say whether you have seen any of these paintings in Iraq or whether you know anything about the artist -
