I recently inherited a painting, 62"L x 39"H. It signed "Bower" in the lower left-hand corner, but I found vague information that the artist's first initial might be "H.", and that he may be an Austrian painter.
The painting has a large tree in the foreground, with a stream or pond next to it, and has a lot of depth, with trees fading into the background. I'm not sure what the technique is called, but it is oil, and looks like it was painted thickly with a palette knife. The painting is thickly textured. I believe my parents bought this painting around 30 years ago, at a local Chicago gallery. Would apprecite anything you can find on this, just for my own information. Thanks very much, bobbie |
