My wife and I found two very touching paintings by the same artist in a gallery in California's Gold Country town of Jackson in 1999. They were expensive to us at the time, so we did not purchase them. Unfortunately, that gallery has since closed and my wife is kicking herself for not getting a business card or at least writing down the artist's name and painting titles.
The coloring in the paintings were like what Norman Rockwell would use, except that humor was not an element. The artist successfully conveyed the emotion in seeing your child become a grown man or woman. In one painting, a bride was looking at herself in the mirror as a little girl. In the other, a young boy was playing with a puppy, and you also see him as a grown man coming home from the military to be greeted by the same dog, who is now old. As it so happens, we now have one boy and one girl, so obtaining those paintings would be perfect. Any tips in locating those paintings for sale somewhere would be very much appreciated. |
