Young Woman at an Open Half-Door.
Unknown artist, attributed to the workshop of Rembrandt. The original is in the Art Museum of Chicago. |

I was looking to buy it for my Mom who collects vintage art and wanted to surprise her with a painting. What do you think its worth? Its a 27" x 32" picture/painting someone is selling on the internet? I don't want to get ripped off or over pay and the person selling it doesn't know whats its really worth either.
Thx, Jim |

Can you please tell me if $200 dollars is to much to pay for a old reprint of the painting? I'm not exactly sure how old it is and either is the seller. She's had it for 15 years which she inherited from her uncle when he passed away. I'm interested in buying for my mother for her birthday who has similar vintage art but I know nothing about it.
thanks, Jim |

I think this is one of those cases where the work doesn't have any intrinsic value, other than the enjoyment of owning it. It's a wonderful painting, but $200 seems pretty steep to me. Maybe see if you can find the same thing for less elsewhere (eBay, Allposters.com).
