purchased a watercolor painting in Paris just as the artist was finishing it - a watercolor of the Ifel Tower and Louve - cannot make out the signature other than Wa on the first name and Jo on the last. Help please.... I am trying to identify the artist to have the picture covered by my homeowners insurance.
Thank you |

An artist doing work like this is unllikely to be well known, so I wouldn't hold out much hope for identifying him or her. I guess you don't have a receipt?
Did you pay much for it? I would think that as long as you document the existence of the painting by photographing it for example, it should be covered for up to a reasonable amount -- maybe a couple of hundred dollars. Of course you should confirm this with your insurance company. |
