I'm trying to find a painting from my youth. It is an Australian desert scene, with a dessicated background and a dead dried-out tree in the foreground and a bleached animal skull and bones in the scrub. Does anyone recognise this description?

Is it maybe Georgia O'Keefe?

No, sorry, that's not the one. It was a male artist and painted about late 1950's. It was not abstract and main focus was a knarled, silvery, dried out tree branch overlooking the dried animal bones in the desert scrubland with a torrid atmosphere and distant horizon. His name is on the tip of my tongue but can't get it. Thanks for trying. |
