A friend bought this giclee print
![]() and now wants to know the real artist. I already contacted art.com because that's where they listed the wrong artist and they wrote: "Hi, Thank you for contacting Art.com. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We do not produce the images you see on our site; we receive our prints from different suppliers. Consequently, we may not necessarily know the owner of the copyright. Additionally, for contractual reasons, we are unable to disclose information about our suppliers and artists." ...which sounds like they didn't even read my letter explaining that they have listed the wrong artist. but it now becomes a quiz for all you paint historians out there. name the real artist of this painting and you will have my sincerest thanks. This is not a test - because I don't know the answer. This is a challenge. good luck http://www.art.com/products/p2338321...nunciation.htm |

I don't see it online but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Garofalo. There's a stylistic resemblance, but mainly because Gauguin and Garofalo are close together alphabetically and it seems like someone could have accidentally clicked the wrong artist name.
