investement in major contemporary artist

Hey,
I was wondering how profitable can be an investement in works of major post-war artist like Jean-Paul Riopelle.
Its there any site that can help me with that? Showing evolution of prices of an artist.
I'm very interested in acquiring works by Riopelle in particular

Artprice offers reports like that, but they're not free.

You can also try artfacts.net. That's a site that has a ton of factual information but doesn't have a lot of visibility. Not sure how much of what they offer is free.
