I have a Sadler hand colored print of three gentlemen (one young, two older) sitting at a table drinking wine. There is a window to the right, behind one of the men, and to the left is a wood burning stove in a fireplace. In the center of the picture above one of the men, is a newspaper that has "The Pedlar Boy" written on it, among other things. There are sprigs of holly decorating the wall around the picture. The man on the right of the table is sitting on a bench. The man on the left of table is sitting in a chair. There is another newspaper on the right, by the window, that has "Bound Miller" written on it. The table clothe has been pushed down the table with the bread and plates, so the gentlemen have an open table for wine in decanter and glasses, which they are holding. Older man on right (in green coat) has packages, a briefcase and cane, beside him. The man on the left (in blue coat) has a basket case beside him on floor. The older man in middle has a brown fur collar coat.
It has W. Dendy Sadler signature in image and "Painted by W. Dendy Sadler" in bottom left corner and "Etched by James Dobie" in bottom right corner. I have tried very hard to find the name of this art piece with no results. I would be very thankful for any information someone may be able to tell me about this art. Thank you, Bernard B. fortreasures@yahoo.com |

The place to look is probably the "Illustrated price list of the etched works of W. Dendy Sadler", which can be downloaded from archive.org
