Please help ID this landscape painting

I recently bought this painting and can not seem to figure out who the artist is. On the back of the frame is written "Artist S. Scott R.S.P.F.C.A. "Sunset in the Orient" 1971
On a small notecard stuck in the frame is another title "Sunset Thailand"

Does anyone have any idea who this artist is and where I might learn more about him?

It looks like The Golden Pavilion – Kinkakuji in Kyoto Japan.
I couldn’t find any information on the artist S. Scott.
