Hi can anyone shed light on an old painting I have . It bears the signature of a G Jennings and is of a farmhouse which is over grown and a river to its right hand side .. On the rear it has a small label saying..Original Oil Painting by Geo Jennings.. I have tried loads of searches to no avail and fell by chance on this site, I can remember it hanging on my Grandmothers wall I presume it is at least 50 years old!! But what do I know ..

Just found your message, I have a painting by george jennings too, it is a cottage scene and is definitely victorian, my aunt had it before me and her aunt had it before her, must be old. I can't find out much about this guy and think he may be from the west country of the uk.

I have 2 paintings (country scences) by G Jennings (also has same label on the back) - similar ones selling for approx £100 approx

I also have an oil painting by G Jennings. I bought it in an antique shop in Cardiff in about 1993. It is of a country side scene.

I paid bout £100 for it then - probably a mistake!. The painting, however, is pleasant enough - and being an original, gives more pleasure than a print.
