My father bought this oil painting back in the 70's for around $400. It's been hanging over the fireplace the whole time and recently he decided he was going to get rid of it. So I told him I would take it. My mother has seen lithographs of the same image only a lot smaller. The painting is 24" x 48" and is in excellent condition. The signature seems to be Werner Hoppman but the last name blends into the background and it's hard to make out and I haven't been able to find info on such a person with the same name. Can anyone tell me any info on it?
Thanks Bob |

Hi. My Mom also has a painting that is signed by Werner Hoppman. We were going to put it in a sale but I thought I should try looking Werner Hoppman up first. Now it will not go into the sale. Did you find out anything about the painting you have? Moms is 12" X 24". On the back it was stamped NO. 20 and then it has 6-310278 that someone printed. It is in a custom made frame. The picture is similar to yours. I would appreciate any info you have on Werner Hoppman and his paintings. Thanks

So it seems to be a mass produced piece, since I have the same painting, except slightly different. His colors are little to be desired in mine. # on back 6-312324
