I come across a lot of paintings and other art in my line of work. I'm looking for a reliable medium to sell each piece. I understand not everything is worth "a ton of money". I'm not looking for that. I'm simply trying to sell each piece as quickly as possible for a fair price. Local antique dealers don't care about the paintings I come across because they're not worth thousands and thousands of dollars. What should I do?
Some of the artists are: Charles Reid Karl Schrag Dana Johnson Thom O'Connor D. Pearson (thanks John) Giorgio Ferrari Alleyne Howell and many more. Here are some of the pieces: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54558416@N05/5635748970/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/54558416@N05/5635747530/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/54558416@N05/5635746756/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/54558416@N05/5635745872/ Last edited by piratelou : April 22nd, 2011 at 01:06 PM. |

eBay is one option...decide what you think they are worth to you..set the bidding start price as that...or do a buy it now if you want to sell fast. Art, like...supreme beauty...is only a matter of opinion.

There are a ton of bidders on eBay, and a reasonably good work will attract interest as long as the listing has...
1. Well written text. 2. Well photographed artwork. Be sure to also make sure the thumbnail has some "pop" to it. Some sellers achieve this by using only a detail image for the thumbnail, but this seems desperate to me. Just make sure you have good light and good color. 3. A reasonable price. I don't sell on eBay but it seems like there's a lot to know, so I'd recommend buying a book on the subject and starting there. |
