Smile Unidentified painting

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help....

I have an oil painting of a sailing vessel. Looks to be from either the 19th or early 20th century. The painting is only signed with the initials "CE" - the "c" is smaller than the "e" and both are tilted and intertwined.

The back of the painting is marked "The Clarendon" Oct 17/92, Hackensack NJ. The back of the frame is also marked "The Peleger Pat. Feb 2nd 1886". #6

I haven't been able to find a thing online about this "mysterious painting". Any ideas? Or is there some other way I can explore it?

Thanks sooooo much!
