I saw a painting some years ago, and I've always remembered it. I loved it, and I can still almost picture it in my mind. But of course, I can't remember anything helpful like the name of the painting or who painted it. But I remember the subject matter very well.

Aphrodite is comforting/forgiving Ares after a battle he's orchestrated. There's a battlefield in the background, and I believe Ares and Aphrodite are standing on the left side.

It probably won't help, but I believe this painting hung in the Getty Museum in Los Angeles in the summer of 2002.

Any ideas?
