After this wonderful help of Saintmarc,
I have another French (?) watercolor from Paris, whose creator I cannot identify. It messures appr. 45 to 65 cm and is on very thick paper. I'm in a dead end with "Echeverry", but those “Etcheverries”, that I can find, don't come into question. Any help, any suggestion, is highly appreciated. Luca |

If I'm wrong with “Etcheverries”,
what other suggestions could be made? Thanks for every try. Luca |

You are not wrong but the name Etcheverry is difficult to work with. There are plenty of artists in south America, some with the same first name. I work on Diego Etcheverry, french born Casablanca 1933. The paintings that artnet shows are not by him but by Denis Etcheverry. The great problem comes from a book of art prices published some years ago in France which gave to this 19th/20th cent.artist the third name Diego without any reason for. None of the paintings I have seen on the net could be supposed by Diego Etcheverry (1933) and I was unable to find one that is really by this painter. I am searching for a book showing at least one of his work (the most often torn and glued white paper) but it is a rare book in a library I visit only three or four time a year. Be patient. I have a file Etcheverry now on my desk.

I found this painting by Susana Etcheverry (1937??).
Is it similar enough to think it could be the same artist? Does anyone know her? Thanks for every answer. Luca |

Congratulations! I think this is likely the same artist, but it's hard to be too confident based on this because the works are in different media, are signed in a different way, and frankly because they are highly abstract so who can really say?

Sorry but I don't think that your painting is by Susana Etcheverry, born Buenos Aires 1929. All the works I have seen by this artist are signed in the same manner Susana Etcheverry on two lines and bold letters, at least not like manuscript writing.
