Default Please ID painting of wolk above a hamlet

Our family has an old oil painting of a black wolf looking down a snow covered hill at a small hamlet of cottages. The setting is the far north. I have a photo of this I can share, but I can't put it on a URL. If you think you may know this painting, I will send you a photo. To get a copy of it, email me at

It is by Alfred kowalski and is called "The Lone Wolf". I have seen two versions. One the wolf is on the right of the painting and the village on the left while others show him on the left overlooking the village on the right of the frame. My grandma had a miniature on her wall forever and my mom had one as long as I can remember. When she died, I fianally got to hang it on my wall. That cold, lonely wolf always haunted me.

Interesting but if you are watching an old episode of All in the family, they have one on their wall beside the entrance to the kitchen.
