I bought this painting at a yard sale years ago, and have been unable to identify the artist. The signature is written in black on dark brown background, so it's really hard to see. It looks like 'Davis Hinson' or something like that. It also says either 43 or 73. It is a painting of a knight or guard or some type of ancient military. This is original artwork, so if there is some clues you could give me about how to age a painting based on the canvas or frame, that would be helpful as well. I have attached a picture of the painting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
