Hello!
I have two original radierung prints one of Joseph Hadyn and the other one of Joseph Sebatian Bach both are signed by the same printer. Can anyone make out the name? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Have you seen Ferdinand Michl's signatures on his prints and it compares to my radierung print. Just double checking. Do you happen to know what the first letter is on the signature? Was he a well know radierung printer? Thanks for your time. I appreciate it very much. Awainting your response. Thanks! |

Hi---I have a number of Ferdinand Michl's woodcuts and etchings. The writing at the bottom right of the Bach portrait is not Michl's signature. It says "Nl. Michl"; the "Nl." is short for "Nachlass" (literally, "remaining after") and indicates that the pseudo-signature was added after Michl's death. In fact, the print may even have been made after Michl's death. Michl apparently did many such portraits of composers; I have several that bear his genuine signature. Allan
