 The strokes are quite bold. Might be early impressionism? |

Looks more like EXpressionism to me, but I don't have any specific suggestions who the artist could be. I'm thinking of artists like Max Beckman and Richard Gerstl, but if that's an original painting then it's likely by someone less well known.
