Have you checked under the frame for a signature?

I wonder if it is an early version of the 'Pont de la Tournelle'? Saintmarc??

dear eirene, have checked everywhere the picture is stuck on to board so i dont want to ruin it, but no signature, the buildings look italian , the dress 17th century it was painted by master and it is very big 47inch x23 inch inside it oozes class.its not on the web gallery of art have looked[27065 pics]thanks phill

Dear Eirene, Have Checked For Signatures,nothing Its Not The Painting You Suggested I Think Its Italian,by The Dress 17th Cent,it Oozes Class A Very Good Hand Very Large 47inches X 23 Inches,have Checked All The Pictures On The Web Gallery Of Art[27065]took Four Days,

To me it is a lovely painting Phillsigns. I have done some searching...no joy. One of the many bridges in Florence perhaps? You should take it to an expert in your area..a museum would steer you in the right direction.
