I would appreciate help identifying a water color print with a signature of MARC.
On back of picture is a sticker that reads; Vilas-Mages Co. , Chicage. 2710 S.-1055. Le Pontdu (or) Le Pantu. This was in our family , does any one have any idea on the value of this picture? Sincerely |

I have a watercolour by MARC. It is of a general cargo vessel at a Brooklyn, New York, pier. The ship is probably a 1950-60's style. The background buildings could date it. Any info??

I have had a Marc watercolour of what seems to be an english village, in my possession for 30 years. It reminded me of ''Ludlow'' in the UK.
Curious |

This is really crazy -- I have had a lovely watercolor by "MARC" since the 60's, a family piece, and wondered for years who is this artist. My painting looks like an European village on a stream and tonight when I googled I found this site for the first time. I do not know if there is a label on the back because I had it professionally framed years ago. Soft colors, water reflection, love it !! Would love more information.

I have 4 watercolors with the MARC written in the bottom right. One is Bern, Switzerland...the others are European scence but not sure where. Has anyone found out who this artist is and if they are worth anything?

I just bought four paintings at an estate sale, perhaps all of NYC, but they have a tiny copyright symbol in the bottom right corner that could easily have been hidden by a framer, but were not. I probably have prints, not originals. Did any of you see the ghost of a longer signature under the very strong MARC signature? One "painting" is of NYC skyline -- that should be very easy to date.
