Please help in ID of this watercolor

I need help in identifying the artist who painted this 16x20" watercolor. The name appears to be Maurice Lelani, but I can't make out for certain the spelling of his last name. The year appears to 1941. I have another companion painting to this one of a similar ski scene in the mountains. The location of the painting might be the Alps. Any help in identifying this artist and painting is appreciated.

How about Lelaive or (a more common name) Delaive? The first letter could also be an "S", but I don't see how to make it into a plausible name.
