Default Identify and Thoughts - Find appraisal

Hi All..I am new here but learning an awful lot! I love to hunt for buried treasures and honestly, I'm not sure where I found this one but upon very very close inspection, I realized I may have an extremely old and obviously very beautiful piece of art reminiscent of the old masters! I have no idea where to go to get it identified and appraised by HONEST professionals. I thought I would start here! At first glance I thought (as did others probably) that it was a print glued on a piece of old wood...but under inspection, it is an actual painting. Under the microscope you can see the paint and the wood..the small flakes of wood/paint in certain spots...it has not been well cared for and has some areas of distress due to treatment. I remember it was tossed in a pile of stuff when I found it. It is a small piece, approx 6 1/2" x 8 1/2"..so the amazing detail on the face(s) is actually remarkable. The background is quite dark and almost so old it has become part of the wood..the robes of the subjects is has a bit of a glossier finish..not glossy..but when you move it in the light to see it at different angles, you can see the paint of the robes as a different type of paint or finish then the rest of the piece including faces, etc. Okay, I will try and attach, I hope I do this properly. Any identification, thoughts on the painting is appreciated. I live in Philaldelphia PA so any thoughts of who I can take it to that I could trust would be helpful. thanks! Angela
