Default Is this painting worth fixing?

I work at a trhift store and we got this painting donated the other day. I can't find a signature on it anywhere. There is A.M.D.G hand written in the top left cornor but I looked it up and it stands for "Ad maiorem Dei gloriam" which translates to "For the greater glory of God". It was reframed in '52 in Dayton, OH.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it or if its worth trying to fix the holes in it. I have attached some pictures that might help.

Thank you

These curly blond hair coming from Lucas Cranach involve a german school.
This painting is coming from the "ego dilecto" of Franz Ittenbach, a member of the Nazarene movement.

There are two known versions of this work.
1)In a church of the Czech Republic
2)In the Royal collection, Great Britain.

It is sufficiently known to give birth to reproductions (postcards, like this one -The seller makes a mistake in the title with another Ittenbach's work)

But I guess there is an unknown (for myself) version of this painting with a sitted Mary like shown in your painting, or the copyist was talented enough to create this new bearing for the Virgin.

is this oil on canvas?
If its oil on canvas, it would be nice to try to date it. But it's difficult to date from a picture!
If it is not a too contemporary copy, it can worth the fixing.
but that is a lot of ''if''
Best thing in my opinion is to take it directly to a trusted art gallery to have an opinion about it!

I am pretty sure its oil on canvas. The person here who kinda cleans out paintings and fixes the frames says she thinks it is.
