I've been told that the title is " Rock of Ages.". I have found similar images but none come close to what I have. The picture is a reverse glass painting with mother of pearl in lay. It has a woman with long black hair clinging to a large cross in the middle of a stormy sea. Looking at the painting she is facing to your right and behind the cross there is a black image of a ship in the distance. The woman is wearing a white or very light blue dress - like a night gown - and beneath there is red material like a cape. There is not a visible artists name that can be found but we have not attempted to removed the glass from the frame as the paint is cracking and some pieces have already separated from the glass. In my search, I happened across some slides that referenced the Rock of Ages series and I am curious if this painting too is part of a series. I will try to attach a picture asap but as a new member to the forum it did not appear I had that capability yet. Thanks!!
