Default Help Identifying painting and artitst

Hello, can anyone help me identify the name of this painting and the artist? I'ts been hanging for years, but I don't know anything about it. Thanks!

That is a fascinating painting. Is it an original painting? I assume it's a depiction of some historical or mythical story. They look like they might be exiles. But what's going on with the man, is he handcuffed to that lyre?

I'm no expert, but to me it looks like an Academic style painting from the late 19th century, possibly Italian as in Francesco Brunery or Francesco Hayez.

It's behind glass, and I never took it out doubt it is an original.

It doesn't show what he is (or was) handcuffed to. It doesn't look like it's the lyre. The woman on the right is also holding a musical instrument, but it can't be seen very well in the photograph. She is not handcuffed.
