I need help trying to identify this artist. Unique hayrick behind the farmhouse indicates subject matter located in Slovenia or Urkraine in 19th or early 20th century. Construction of the picture frame is very different from what I have seen. Stamp "____ Allowed" on upper part of frame means what?
Thanks for your help on this one. Jim |

The painting signed by A.Broekman was NOT painted by himself. A.Broekman was a sales man of art. The creator was Huibert Schallenberg, born in Delft, the Netherlands on 31-12-1883 and died on 27-03-1981 in DenHague During the crisis (1929-1939) he sometimes produced unsigned art.
Other signatures that were put under Schallenberg paintings were Pierre Lacor, P. Tijssen, A. Broekman and Cor van Putten. Under his own name he was well known for his flowerstillife paintings. |

Just found out myself that A. Broekman is Huibert Schallerman. I found a Dutch website about Schallerman and has the signature he used as A. Broekman. Matches the painting per my thread. (http://www.huibert.schallenberg.nl/)
Thanks for your help and confirmation. Jim |
