I want to know if anyone knows anything about this artist: W.S. Kerr, dated 1924. I took a picture to see if that helps. I hope this helps.

There's a William Kerr listed at findartinfo.com, who apparently died in 1896. Assuming that information is correct, he would be ruled ot. There's also a William Kerr listed in the Getty ULAN database who is listed as a Scottish architect, 1867-1940.

I have one as well. Was yours framed at Austin S. Bumps in NY?

Mine has that lable on the back and I know the subject.....The signature matches.

I'll post anything I find.

Ok, I got confused as I have two threads running. Sorry, I'm new to this whole thing. Where the label for the framer would probably be on the back, the paper backing is torn away at the top. I do remember now that I believe her full name was Mrs. Alice Gardiner and that she was married to a Dr. Gardiner but I do not yet remember his first name. This is so interesting. She was the beloved landlady of my late husband when we first met in Lebanon, PA and she died soon after as I recall in the mid 1980's. I thought they were originally from New England. Thank you and I will post as I know more also!
