Hi everyone, I am desperately trying to find a particular painting/drawing that I once saw in an art book I was flipping through in a book store, but I do not know the artists name nor the title of picture. When I saw this painting I just fell in love with it and i've spent the last 3 years scouring all available resources to try and find it.
I've come to nickname the painting "Facing Worlds" when I talk about it with my friends. The painting depicts a scene in a futuristic city centered around a two way highway in the center going from the foreground into the horizon. To one side of the highway and including one of the lanes the city is really dark, polluted, and raining down what I would assume is acid rain. The sky is scorched in an electrical storm, the buildings are windowless and black with nearly all of them shooting upwards a plume of thick smog. The street of the highway is dirty and corroded while the vehicles themselves also fire thick black smoke from their exhausts. The scene-section is lit by neon street lights and building signs. Then, across the highway, the artist gracefully merges into the other side of the highway. The Vehicles here are a bright, shimmering silvery-blue that matches the clean steel of the buildings. The sky is a perfect spring blue, dotted with snow-white stratus clouds and flocks of birds. Behind the buildings the viewer can see the oceans waters glistening in the reflective sun light. No smoke, smog, or exhaust is rising from the building or vehicles. The highway passes over a healthy green field that also surrounds the outskirts of this side of the city; you can even see a horse in the foreground grazing on the lush green grass. The contrast of this painting just stuck with me and I am just bent on finding it, please, do any of you know the painting/drawing I am describing or know of another place I can look to try and find it? Thank you for any help you can offer! =) |

Here's the site where they sell his paintings. I see the one with the palm trees is sold and there is no name on it. Perhaps you could email them to find out the name. http://www.courtenaysfineart.com/John_Horsewell.html

I am trying to find out who the painter was of this painting I once saw in New Orleans. I believe the painting was a remake, but it was of a girl wearing a white dress. She was sitting on the floor and I think she was draped over one knee. She had dark hair but you can see her face. It was completed in the impressionist style and the background was red in colour. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm also trying to find the name of a specific painting. All I know is the name on the painting says P Scott. I've tried Googling it and can't seem to find it anywhere. A Peter Scott comes up but I don't see this particular painting from him.
The description of the painting is snowy mountains in the background w/ pine trees, a cabin, a path and a lake. If anyone knows what this painting is called or where I can find anything about it online, please help me! =) Thanks a lot!!!! |

I'm looking for a painting that I have not seen, but it was described to me, I don't know the name or the artist.
It had 5 fishermen all outfitted like they'd been to Dicks, and little boy wearing blue jeans with holes in them, a straw hat, carrying a string full of large fish, a tomato soup can with worms in it, the fishermen were eyeing the boy who had caught more then they had with less then they had. Hope someone has seen it! Thanks. |

This is the closest I could find to your description although there are only two fishermen. Could be by the same artist.
![]() Beginners Luck by J. F. Kernan [1950's] http://www.decodog.com/inven/fishing.html Have gone through the prints at the above site. There are a few with a young boy in a straw hat. |
