I simply cannot believe that you have no recognition of Ed McKnight Kauffer on this website. He was an amazing groundbreaking graphic artist - an American in Britain, he was never properly recognised in the states. Are you still prejudiced against him!
-------------------------------- Note from Moderator: I am adding this here as this post has received over 500 views. I don't know if "unregistered" has ever checked back to see if an answer was posted. I already knew why Ed McKnight Kauffer was not featured on Artcyclopedia (or at least I had an idea why). Artcyclopedia generally only lists artists that are represented in national art museums....and only lists "fine artists". Ed McNight Kauffer was a graphic designer. Much can be found about him online (do a Google search). Wikipedia has a brief biography (sources are listed): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_McKnight_Kauffer A more extensive biography (by Steven Heller - a noted expert in graphic design) http://www.aiga.org/content.cfm/meda...cknightkauffer Here are many of his poster designs (for London Transport and Underground): http://www.ltmcollection.org/posters...Knight+Kauffer Some photographs of Kauffer and poster examples: http://www.rennart.co.uk/kauffer.html Much more is "out there". Now Kauffer has been given recognition. Judy Decker Moderator |
