  • Engraving of the Assassination of Willem the First, 1584

I have found a number of different engravings of the assassination of Willem I in 1584, including this one, which apparently resides in the Rijksmuseum, but I've been unable to access their collection. The artist's name appears to be N (Noach?). van der Meer, active in the mid to late 1700s ("fecit" translates to "he made"). The image of this that I did find was slightly different, in that the caption did not run all the way across below the image, but took up two lines.Image is approx. 7 x 8.Appears to have been done on quality paper, and has two creases showing (perhaps from a book published at the time? Did find reference to his work in a 1790 book on the history of the Netherlands). I have attached photos of the engraving and a closeup of the information bottom right. Any help appreciated
