  • David Dipnall Original or print

Hi I wonder if anyone could help me. I have a painting which was my parents. It was bought from Gallery One in Southport and is a David Dipnall but how do I tell if it is an original or a print?

I can't upload a photo for some reason but the name of the painting is "Gently glides stream river"

    Many thanks in advance

As he painted in oil you should see brushstrokes. A print would more than likely be behind glass, have a flatter appearance, perhaps numbered, using a magnifying glass you would see dots.

Edit: If a canvas print then it would be uniform and flat...no brush strokes unless embellished. Some canvas prints are embellished with uniform brush strokes.
